Fun Monday and more.
I will start today with a digital scrapbook layout I created for my neice for her 3rd birthday.
I love these boxes by Paint the Moon. All credits can be found here.
I am joining in with Fun Monday today for the first time.
This weekβs Fun Monday is easy, Mariposa is hosting and asking TWO things –
First (1) Please share with us how the NAME of your BLOG was made? I canβt wait to hear interesting funny stories!
(2) Please share with us (in words or photo, though a combination of both will be a bonus!) your favorite/ most common dish!
So how did my blog get it’s name?
It is a bit of a running joke in our family, that when by dh (husband for those who don’t know but are afraid to ask!) does something which is part of my regular day routine he says he does not know how I do it and keep sane. I think it is the unpredictability, the need to adapt to changing circumstances, and the inability to get much else done that he finds challenging (!). He says it is much easier to work outside the home, and my reply is “Welcome to my world!”. Don’t get me wrong, he is a great “hands-on” Dad, but let’s just say we both recognise where our strengths lie!
It therefore seemed an obvious progression when I started a blog last March that this would be it’s name. Hope all that made sense!
So on to food, and for me, my favourite meal has to be Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day with all the trimmings.
My daughter made the Menu card, so you can see what we served Christmas Day 2007.
And here is the food, ready to serve.
I don’t have more photos to share, but a few other favourite foods include
Breakfast – Special K with red berries
Other main courses – Mango Chicken, Irish Stew, Spaghetti Carbonara
Drink – Diet Coke, or (very milky and not too chocolatey) Hot Chocolate
Meringue Nests with Low Fat Fromage Frais and fresh strawberries or raspberries
Two things for you to remember – first the Ultimate Blog Giveaway, happening HERE next week.
Secondly, I am planning my own special giveaway prize for St Patricks Day, so please come back to find out more.
Until then, take care.
Welcome to Fun Monday! Hope to keep seeing you here from now on…and yes, I’ll keep coming back to your world.. π
And yes, I love Christmas dinner!
The dinner looks wonderful.
Traditional Christmas dinner…yummy! Good choice!
Yum! Your Christmas dinner looked great! You’re making me so hungry reading about hot chocolate and mango chicken π
I just love the look of that layout – its the sort that should be framed and hung on the wall, for sure. I had a good giggle at the reason for your blog name… my dh too tells me I live in ‘my own little world’. Thanks for sharing, JM, and I too, am looking forward to your getting your sponsor child! We should do something special to celebrate for you that day! π

Will you come to my house and cook!!!!! Yum.
Welcome to fun Monday! I’m glad you joined in and your Christmas dinner looks wonderful. Holiday meals are always so great to share. The name of your blog is perfect! The next time you make those meringue Nests I’m going to be knocking on your door!
Oh gosh, I’m a sucker for surprises! I’ll have to check back more often than usual! Your dinner looks just scrumptions! MMMMM!
Have a wonderful, blessed day!
A great begining Fun Monday post! This was my first time as well! I want to come for dinner sometime! Yummmm! I tend to tell my DH “Welcome to my world” quite often too!

Another newbie to Fun Monday, most excellent! Hope to see you again. Especially if you put pictures of food out like that. Looks delish! And my husband has heard “Welcome to my world” many many times over the years.
I love all of your food choices & your turkey dinner looks amazing!
First, welcome to Fun Monday.
I really like your rendition of how you came about titling your blog. This was a fantastic subject for us all.
Happy Monday.
Gorgeous layout, those boxes are adorable. Great story about the name of the blog and love your dinner photos. Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a great night!
Welcome to Fun Monday. Terrific job and your dinner looks amazing.
Welcome to Fun Monday. I am amazed at a menu card for the Holiday Feast! Very cool! And the dinner looks great.
BTW, peanut butter on a bagel means more carbs for those of us who are addicted to them. You probably aren’t missing anything.
Great blog name and story behind it. Welcome to Fun Monday! π
Looks like Christmas dinner at your place is very filling. π
I love that you and DH appreciate each other’s strengths rather than discount each other because of weaknesses!
welcome to Fun Monday!!! I love the name of your blog..I always say the same thing to my husband!!!
Your holiday meal looks delicious, I love the menu card!!
Hola from Sunni Cali! Welcome to Fun Monday!
I’m a digi scraper too, so I’m very excited to see your stuff. I haven’t made it a habit to post mine in the past, but will probably share more this year. I will be back to “lift” ideas & resources from you of course.
I’m partial to the layout of your niece, my youngest DD is named Fiona (and she has curls too, only dark ones). Shhhh, don’t tell anyone, I don’t share our names online, your in on the secret. π
I think your blogname is really very nice !
I change my favourite food just like my mood, lol !
lovely LO! and I do say “welcome to my world” quite a lot π
thanks for stopping by my bloggie!
your daughter is so sweet to create a menu for christmas! π
Such a yummy meal!!!!
I have a question. When you make meringue nests how do you keep them from falling apart when you put something in them? I make meringues all the time, but have never figured out the trick to filling.
Hi! I love the welcome to my world answer. Yep. I’ve used it too. And I love the traditional holiday meal at our house too! Jennifer
BTW I posted the spaghetti recipe!
I love the story behind your blog…I say that to my husband all the time!! LOL!! You do such beautiful work!
Love your lo. Esp the papers, silk flower and butterfly.
I love that layout and that curly hair on your niece!
It is nice to know how your blog got it’s name…we have the same conversation around here sometimes!
Oh, yes. I have also used that “Welcome to my world!” statement at time or two. (More like a time or twenty!)
I think it’s cute that you used it as your blog title.
Just one question, how can hot chocolate EVER be too chocolatey??? I love it that way! *grin*
Welcome to Fun Monday. I’m still a bit new too!
Your digiscrapping is phenomenal! I’d be willing to try, but I think I would become OCD about it and let’s just say things would start slipping in other “motherly” departments. lol
Yep, I can totally relate to your blog name. I tend to use the “welcome to my world” phrase too!
And your Christmas Menu looks delicious!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi thank you for visiting my place. I was actually away in Dublin visiting my daughter when you left your comment, hence the late reply.
That’s my kind of meal looks yummy.
I also love all your digital scrapbooking.
