Home Exchange in New England – continues in Concord, Massachussets
Having stayed in such a perfect cape cottage on Cape Cod for 10 days, it was hard to imagine how our second destination would be any more pefect – but it is!
Welcome to Concord, and our home for another 10 days. It is a beautiful historic home (1876!) which has been extended sympathetically and retains lots of original features and charms.
I am glad we spent time on the Cape first, relaxing on the beaches and swimming in the sea and the local ponds, while we recovered from the jet lag. We never needed to travel too far for meals out, ice-creams and different venues for the sunsets!
Our first few days here in Concord have been much more hectic, with lots of shopping and walking.
Today was a quieter day, as we recover and plan for our next few days in Boston.
This evening we enjoyed the late sun at Walden Pond – a beautiful spot.
More updates from me soon, but in the meantime here are another few beautiful images from Walden Pond and the sun began to set.
Thanks for taking time to visit, leave a comment if you can, thanks.
……all looks brilliant
WHAT???
You’re in the States???
Keep coming west, and then a little bit north. You’ve already crossed the ocean, now come see me in Michigan!
I hope you enjoy your vacation!

We went to Boston two years ago for the Fourth of July. I loved that city – so much to see! Enjoy yourselves!
What a fun vacation! Love the idea of a house exchange (reminds me of the movie The Holiday). Enjoy your time in Boston.
That home looks gorgeous! I love the last picture. Yhe lighting on that is spectacular. Enjoy Boston. It is a beautiful city. Is it strange that I think even the cemeteries there have a certain charm?
You’re so lucky to be spending such an extended vacation in the USA…Are the trees turning there? It looks like it in the photo of the pond.

And thank YOU for sharing with us – taking sweet moments out of your vacation! One day when we retire we will take a complete “go-round” of all the US States. Praying for you as you travel.
Love, Barb
Those pictures are beautiful. Doing a home-exchange seems exciting and adventurous. Every time I think about it I think about the movie The Holiday. One of my favorites. 🙂
I’ve been enjoying your vacation pictures! They are beautiful!
