This year thanks to @inspiringyarns I started to embroider and now slow stitching

What is slow stitching?

For me it is slowing down, just sewing with no set stitches

Simple stitches, on any fabric – the point is not the end result but just the joy of the process of making it.

I chose a palette of warm autumn colours as I find it hard to embrace total randomness and started just by drawing a line and starting to fill in the shapes.

I chose to mix up the stitches and some work more successfully than others! Embracing the mistakes (!)
Harmonious imperfections as our tutor @emmawhiteheadart explained!

Still a few bits to work on – maybe it will never be really finished!

The prospect of embroidery was always daunting to me, but this relaxed way definitely appeals.

Do you embroider? Let me know!
