Monday Musings including an (in)RL invitation
Another busy week has past. Here is what I have been up to:
1. Extreme Knitting
On Saturday at the Creative Crafts Show in the Kings Hall, Belfast I came across Rachel John and her extreme knitting.
I purchased a cushion kit and within 2 hours I had created this!
It is a pleasant change from knitting with fine wire and beads – it’s hard to give you an impression of the scale of it all. I love the chunky texture. I’ll share the finished cushion when I get it done!
I discovered another new hobby / artistic / creative outlet – but that is for another post another day.
3. I sold a crocheted necklace like this to an Instagram follower in Texas, US – through the wonder that is my iphone camera, camera + app and instagram app!
4. I went back to spin classes at the gym – ouch! No pain, no gain, right?
5. I managed to go out for a walk yesterday afternoon WITHOUT my DSLR – it does happen (occasionally). Of course I took a few pics with my iphone! We parked at Minnowburn, walked down under the 2 bridges at Shaws Bridge, as far as the Lock Keepers Cottage, then crossed the river and back up to the playpark and icecream van. We just made it back to the car in time before the rain came.
7. Finally I am looking forward to next Saturday (28 April 2012).
I am hosting an (in)Courage event called (in)Courage in Real Life or (in)RL. It is tricky to explain, but (in)Courage is an online community of Christian women, and the purpose of this is to bring together women in our local community in the real world to connect and support eachother.
There are several webcasts which we can share during the event and I imagine there will be coffee and food and plenty of chat too!
The theme is beachy-ish so I picked up these today while doing the grocery shop. Not yet sure what I will serve in them, but I’ll think of something!
So if you are in the Lisburn/Belfast area (or are prepared to drive further) you would be more than welcome to come along. Not everyone will know eachother, so don’t let that put you off. Get in touch for times and directions.
Wont be too scary either, promise!
So, that’s been my week, how about yours?
I like the concept of next Saturdays activity – it sounds great
OHHHHH J, I’m a little bit jealous of inRL. I checked the site weeks ago and again today and in this part of the world, there is no group in SA. I could have hosted one in Jhb but we’re away this weekend. Please tell us EVERYTHING about it and hopefully next time I can participate and even more important, hopefully people come!!!
Thanks – really looking forward to it but nervous too. Prayers appreciated, that even if only a few come, that those who really need to will be there.
