Subway Style Art – Personalised Baby Gift
I am finally able to share the baby gifts I created for this gorgeous baby boy.
Of course I forgot to photograph the final framed prints before I delivered them, so you will have to use your imagination, and pretend these are presented in comtemporary matching wooden frames.
The colours were based on the baby’s nursery – mustard yellow, chocolate brown and burgundy.
I created both pages in Photoshop Elements. I distressed the background with some grungey brushes.
I have an obsession/addiction/passion for fonts, so had great fun selecting the font for each line/phrase.
My daughter, on seeing the completed items, would like me to create one for her room, so no doubt I will end up making 3 – one for each child.
I also have plans to perhaps create a series of these for the holiday cottage – perhaps changing them seasonally – summer/beach, autum, christmas and spring. Or perhaps an inspirational quote or bible verse? Maybe one to celebrate our wedding – date, time, venue, names of bridesmaids etc?
If I manage to get around to this I’ll be sure to share them on the blog.
I was seeing so many of these types of wall art on Pinterest, that I have recently created a Pinterest board dedicated to “subway style” art.
Dear Reader – If you could have one created for you, what would you choose to put on it? Feel free to answer below!
Thanks.
I love this idea. I think it could also be used as motivation or a motivation reminder. For example, one made with positive phrases for weight loss or fitness goals, or for people studying etc 🙂
There was a piece about font styles on BBC1 breakfast news this morning. It was about how important different styles of font were in relaying what we were trying to communicate to others. You might be able to catch it on iplayer.
Thanks Christine – will look it up. I’m addicted to fonts!!!
