Boy meets snail

A quick post here today, as lots going on. My husband will be turning the big Four 0 this weekend. We are spending it up at the cottage, and I need to pack, finish his card, wrap pressies, buy cake……you get the idea!

Before I go I want to share a couple of new layouts

At the weekend, my little son had a great time with his new friend “Crawler” the snail. They spent a lot of time together, and it was quite hilarious to listen to him. At one stage, there appeared to be some bubbles coming out along with the slimey snail trail, and Sam said “He’s having a bath!”. Later he created a new home for him, with leaves and flowers. Unfortuately Crawler did not appreciate this new location, and promptly (well, as promplty as you can when you are a snail) relocated. Sam did not seem to bothered, and informed me Crawler had just gone to make us all a cup of tea.

Gina’s Happy Garden kit(s) were perfect, especially the doodled snails.

I haven’t created many heritage layouts recently, but Lara (a.k.a. Dusty Bear) is back creating with this lovely Summer Dreams kit. This kit is for sale for only $2 this weekend and is great for any sort of heritage project.

The photo is of one of my aunts and her friends enjoying an icecream in Portrush. It is the same place I take my kids to for their ice-cream treats when we are up at the North Coast so it is lovely to know somethings, like ice-cream in the summer, never really change.

Just a few more photos to share with my new lens

Finally, here is a quick and easy digi-scrap project – I personalised this key-ring as a wee gift for a little girl’s birthday. Only took a few minutes, and could easily be adapted to include photos or other messages. I picked up the keyrings in HobbyCraft store while over in England earlier in the year. I am now always on the look out for items which I can use along with my digital scrapbooking – boxes, frames, key rings, photo cubes, coasters…..these are just a few of the items I have used so far. Quite often I pick them up in supermarkets and other non-crafty stores.

Speaking of Digital Scrapbooking, this weekend is National Scrapbook Day – but it should really be International Scrapbooking Weedend, but let’s not split hairs! There will be lots of sales on in the various digital scrapbooking store. The most complete list of sales can be found HERE. So go on……you know you want to…..if you are dithering on the edge of digital scrapping, this would be a great time to start. You can find my previous on starting digital scrapbooking, including some great links HERE.

Think that is me up to date. I did promise a post on motherhood, but let’s just say it is still a work in progress!

If it is a long Bank Holiday weekend wherever you are, I hope you enjoy it.
