Entrance Hall Makeover – finished for Christmas!
Ta da! …… after 14 years of living with a green carpet we detested, we finally have replaced it, and all the planned work of the last few weeks of work is finished.
This is it just after the carpet was laid – so still a bit bare
and this is how it looked just before we started the work (note the attractive green carpet)
Here are a few more photos taken before the carpet fitters arrived
This is what we did:
built a new under stairs cupboard (with lots of storage)
replaced all the internal doors
added some glazed doors to increase the light in the hall
replaced the landing/hall lights
new bookshelf
repainted (walls painted with 2 shades of Farrow and Ball)
new carpet
It all finished yesterday, just in time to get the Christmas decorations out and the trees up in time for our (camera shy) middle daughter’s 13th birthday today. More posts to follow with lots of Christmas decor pics, but here is our new hall tree! – a blurry pic for those who like a bit of bokeh, and a normal one for those who don’t!
Which do you prefer?
How is your Christmas decorating going? And what do you make of the makeover? Worth the 14 year wait?!!
It turned out great!! I bet it feels good to have it all done now – can’t wait to see it in person
