Fathers Day here in Northern Ireland

Happy Father’ Day to my husband, my dad, father-in-law and all the other dad’s too!

I made this digital scrapbook page for my husband, who is currently celebrating his fathers day by snoring on the sofa!

I could take a photo, but that might be cruel, so I will resist!

Instead I will share something our middle daughter (age 9) made for her Dad this morning, while he was at work.
and a photo of daddy and son, taken a few hours ago.

Yesterday we went to a Midsummer Fayre in Lisburn as part of the town’s (officially it is now a city, but it is still a town to me!) 400 year celebrations.

Here are just a few of the sights and activities on offer – all for FREE. My son was particularily taken with the bubble-blowing clowns, street entertainers and human statue.

I much preferred the historical characters, displays of coin making and barber’s surgeon.

It was all held in the recently restored Castle Gardens. There was also traditional live music, balloon modelling, face painting and historical sword fighting demonstrations.

So glad we took the time to go. If we had been on holidays and heard about something like this we would have been delighted and definitely attended, but somehow when it is on our doorstep we don’t always make the effort – why is that?!

Looking for the rest of my Bristol trip, and to see which celebrity chef we met? Sorry, but not today…hopefully it will be worth the wait!

If you would like to read my blog posts for previous Fathers Days here are the links for 2007 and 2008.

So did you celebrate Fathers Day today? Please share.
