Some Shabby Chic Wall Decor for our Cottage
Today I am sharing some word/sign bits and pieces that have recently been hung in our holiday cottage, which is near the Giants Causeway on the north coast of Northern Ireland.
This hook was a great find at £5 in Dunnes and as it combines words with a function (hanging up towels!) my husband also likes it!
I love this “bless this home” sign and it’s creamy colour and green edging are perfect for over the front door. I can’t remember where I bought it!
Finally this vintage-y wooden “home sweet home” sign from Laura Ashley which is still “resting” in the hallway. Have not quite found it’s ideal position so for now it just makes me happy where it is.
Have you added any new items to your walls recently? Please share!
So I am being inspired by the Shabby Chic Cottage look – what about you?

Nothing but fingerprints, but we’re working on a few prettier things:)
Nice Deco, JM!
Ok, so here is what I would have put on your last post – but I cannot even see a way to post on THAT one now… LOL!
If you ever chance to meet,
an Irish lady with blue feet,
( it’s her SHOES, aren’t they sweet? )
then you’ll have met our pretty JanMary,
JM who’s feet the colour of blueberry
with a wand in hand could be a fairy
Ummm – is this poem making you contrary?
Feet as blue as sky and robin’s eggs,
are affixed to the ends of her shapely legs,
Yes when in Ireland and you should meet,
A lovely lady with sea blue feet,
chances are that you’ve just met,
JanMary – how lucky can you get?
NOW, if she happens to chang her mind,
say for example… Her shoes to RED,
why already I start to dread,
a brand new poem forming in my head,
likening her feet to rubys, lollypops,
oh I hope the colour stops,
can’t you choose some thing plain
and give a rest to my poor brain?
Haha – well you suggested I try a comment here and I’m powered by chocolate with my morning coffee. Danger!
Nothing new on my walls. I do love signs, however, and would like to add one in my sunroom. I just haven’t found the right one yet. I also like pharses or scripture painted along the top of the wall around a room. I’m just not brave enough to try it. Your signs are great! Carla
So cute! You find the best stuff!

I love the Bless this home one,Im on the lookout x
As you know, I love words on my walls! I actually just bought a couple of letters for Helena’s name. I need to buy the rest of them – waiting until I have enough coupons to get them all. Then I’m going to alter them and hang them in her newly decorated room.
(JM – I know I asked this before, but just curious – is there a reason why you don’t have the name/URL option anymore when leaving a comment?)
