Blog Journal Day 4 – Best Holiday/Vacation

As with many of these daily blog prompts, it is impossible to choose just one holiday, I have loved so many for so many different reasons.

My Top Romantic Holiday had to be Paris for my husband’s 40th birthday

But others would include these before kids :
a villa in Tuscany, Italy
A gite in Dordonge, France
A quaint B&B in Vermont

Before kids a perfect holiday included a beautiful view, some lovely restaurants, quaint shops, a good book and a pool.

And since having kids best holidays would have to include:

Walt Disney, Florida

Disneyland Paris

but really – anywhere they are happy – playing on the beach and exploring the rock pools near our cottage by the sea (and no volcanic ash messing up our flights!)

Ingredients NOW for a perfect holiday
3 happy kids

(a least one chapter of a book and a view are optional extras!)

So where has your best holiday (vacation) been? Can you pick just one?

This post is part of a challenge to blog daily for a month with different prompts each day. You can see links to the other participants here, and you are welcome to play along at any time.

  1. Charleston, South Carolina is still my favorite place to visit. Since we had children early and they left the nest, I’d have to say most of our Romantic Holidays have been since we became empty nesters. Although our first visit to Charleston came while daughter was a teen and away at a summer retreat with friends.
We love to rent cabins and explore out of the way places, mostly just spending quality time together.

  2. lol I know exactly what you mean! our prerequisites for a holiday have totally changed now since we had our little guy.

  3. Charleston, SC for a romantic vacation. Disney World for a family vacation. We have been to both several times and would go again if we could. Carla

  4. My husband and I went to Mesa Verde, Colorado for our honeymoon and then returned for our first year anniversary. I’d love to go back one day. The second place I’d love to visit is the Black Hills of South Dakota; then after that, the tribal lands of my husband. Then one day–maybe in the far future, we can visit the land of my forefathers–Ireland and Scotland. 😀

  5. Hi, thanks for visiting my blog. what a great idea for journaling posts. and, you have gone to some incredible places. someday i hope to travel more.

  6. Mine would have to be Egypt. I woke at 5.30am this morning and nipped out into the garden with my coffee and I could smell that kind of warm dust smell mixed with the coffee and I was back on honeymoon curled up on the terrace watching the sun come up.

We may be doing Disney in Paris next year now.
