Thank You – 5 minute friday

Today the 5 minute Friday prompt is THANK YOU –  here are my 5 minutes worth
Immediately a quote I saw on Pinterest came to mind
I have so much to say “thank you” to God for:
My faith – my Christian faith has always been important to me, and I hope and pray that my faith will help me to make a positive difference in the world.
My family – my husband, 3 wonderful kids, caring Christian parents who set me a great example, siblings and beyond
My church family – another important part of my life, I appreciate their prayers, support and friendship
My health – a couple of years ago I had treatment for hyperparathyroidism and I am SO grateful for the vast improvement in my health following the surgery (although my son still likes to tell others about the time mummy had her throat cut!)
My jewellery business – the opportunity to be self-employed and creative with janmary designs is not something I take for granted.

I believe we all have much to be thankful for.
Saying “thank you” is good manners, something I value highly. I hate it when people take things for granted – I dislike that sense of entitlement.
THANK YOU also reminds me of a certain purple dinosaur, Barney, and his song “Please and thankyou are the magic words”.
When my kids were younger there was many a day I was thankful for that large purple dinosaur – my  kidsjust loved him and his vast array of videos. Other days I would have paid good money never to have to listen to those songs again….. But in balance I want to say “thank you” to Barney, for entertaining my kids and helping me to reinforce good manners.
End (of the 5 minutes)

So what are you thankful for today? What does “thank you ” mean to you?

  1. love your post – what a great reminder. I was in a meeting the other day and was reminded that I’m one of 900 000 of our country’s “wealthy”. So I’m not… but just perspective because 47 million (the rest) are worse off than I am. Wow – sobering thought!

  2. What a fantastic reminder, my friend! My my heart continue to express thanks in the large and small.
