Why I Blog?
I’ve made it – despite being away on holiday in Italy I have taken part in the “Daily Blogging in the month of May” – every day – without fail!
The final day’s topic is “Why I Blog”
As I am sure is the same for many bloggers, the reasons I started blogging have evolved as my blogging journey continues. When I started, way back in 2007, I just about knew what a blog was, and created mine to share my digital scrapbooking layouts with other digi-scrappers.
It is now about so much more :
- I record my life (maybe for my kids if they are interested in years to come)
- I share my faith
- I connect with others, but online and in the real world, making REAL friends (which non-bloggers might think strange)
- I share my life- the highs (including this trip to Rome) and the lows (including post natal depression)
- It is a creative outlet for me – my English teacher would be amazed that I am choosing to write and express myself on a daily basis, and sharing it with others, and doing it voluntarily!!!
- I promote my business
- I get to attend blog conferences (been to SITS BBC Atlanta and heading to Britmums Live in June 2012)
Those are just the reasons that come to me as I type this, I am sure I will think of a few moe.
One more full day of Rome – learning to cook with an Italian chef tomorrow – can’t wait.
In the meantime, here are a few more of my iphone photos of our trip so far ……full trip reports and lots of photos to follow.
This was the sunset over the Rome skyline from the roof top bar above our hotel.
Today we went to the Vatican

If you blog – why?
If not, why not?!!!!!
Enjoy your last day and I look forward to seeing your photos. The sunset is gorgeous!! x
loved reading your posts during the challenge
Well done on reaching the end of this one, particularly as you have been on holiday. As this ends today, I am taking part in another one for the whole of June. I agree with your reason that your kids might want to read your blog, my son and his friends are avid readers one of mine already.
it seems like our reasons are so similar – i want my kids to know whats going on with us – and I want to remember – remember all of it – I’m not blogging to be well known or famous – i just want to remember – and the best part is the people who i’ve met who are now friends – and your right its so hard for non-bloggers to understand this – can’t wait to hear how your cooking class went – safe flight home
