Bonjour – House Swapping in France, Day 1
And so begins our 4th house swap adventure, and our first to France.
You can read about previous home exchanges to Dublin, Boston and Galway previously on my blog.
This time we are staying on the edge of a beautiful medieval hilltop town about 90 minutes north east of Paris.
For the first time we swapped cars too, and were relieved to locate the car, the sat nav and the correct way out of Charles de Gaule airport.
More on the house in a later post – but it is lovely, and after a sound night of sleep (for me at least) we were ready to explore the local town today.
We had an early lunch in a lovely cafe near the cathedral – warm goats cheese salad followed by caramel crepe for me, and we were able to practice some of our rusty french.
We then explored the amazing 12 century cathedral – warning – I seem to have a new obsession of photographing floors!
We had a wander around the town, and it was probably as well it was Sunday and most of the shops were closed!
Later in the afternoon we negotiated a small french supermarket to purchase some provisions, and I’m not sure who was fascinated more, Sam with the french cashier, or the french cashier with Sam and his “magic yoyo”!
Expect regular blogging from our house swap over the next two weeks!
So, how have you spent your Sunday so far?
house swapping sounds thrilling … Can´t wait to hear more over the next two weeks
