A sociable weekend, and a Thank You Teachers Layout

Well, we are home again from the cottage, unpacked and kids in bed.

First a recap from our weekend.
Our eldest daughter, age 9, had her first weekend away from us on her Girls Brigade weekend (a christian church organisation for girls). She had a wonderful time, and of course very little sleep. She was worried she might have been homesick, but I don’t think she had time!
So there were only 4 humans, and George (the cat) in the car on the way up to the north coast.
Had some mother/daughter retail therapy on Saturday morning, but Jane was probably keener on her new dictionary than the new clothes she got!
In the afternoon we were joined by a group of friends from church who had driven up from home. Rain postponed the trip to the beach for a while, but we enjoyed the chocolate brownies so the time wasn’t wasted. When everyone eventually found us (!) there were over 20 of us. Headed to the beach, where only the kids got wet, a few were energetic, and most of us just relaxed.
All back to the cottage for either BBQ of fish suppers from ‘The Hip Chip’. We left our son with our friendly neighbour babysitter, and went over with most of the group to Portstewart to Morrellis for ice-cream and coffees. I have included some photos, and everyone gave permission to be seen on the blog – so if you see yourself – you have only yourself to blame!

This morning took the kids to one of my favourite local beaches – White Rocks. On a sunny Sunday morning, it is hard to beat.

So on to the Layout. I made 2 similar layouts, one for each of my daughters’ teachers – as a Thank You card. I used a freebie shadow box by Saab and the kit I used is SchoolRuleZ by DigiscrapZ

Thanks for looking, and please leave a comment (pretty please!)
