Super Saturday

It is Saturday afternoon, and the house is quiet! Sam is having a nap, my daughters are ‘sleeping over’ at my parents house for the weekend, and my husband has gone to spend his birthday money. The weather is lovely, and once this is posted I plan to go out into the garden.

Todays layout is my first with Lara Payton’s great new kit Cookery Corner. It contains some great photos of my paternal grandfather. I have few memories of him, but I remember is red hair, which my son has inherited! He was the son of a Reformed Presbyterian Minister, a dairy farmer, and he also delivered his own milk from his Hillhead Farm to the local village of Crawfordsburn, Co Down, N Ireland. He married Mary Archer, who had previously tried to emmigrate with her sisters to America, but she was sent back at Ellis Island. She came back, met Jack, and never returned to America. They had 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl, my dad being the second eldest. His faith, family and hard work were his priorities. There are few pictures of him relaxing, but I love the one of the picnic in the hayfield with his friends.

So, finally, here is the layout:
